How Training fits together

A course contains learning modules. A curriculum groups courses. An assignment connects a course or curriculum to a learner and can give it a due date. Publishing a course makes it available for assignment; publishing is not evidence that anyone has completed it.
A competency records a skill gained through training. Its validity can expire independently of whether a learner has a historical completion record.
