Let the assistant look through your connected documents, website and SharePoint for products that are not yet in the register, then add or dismiss each candidate from the passage it was found in.
Your organisation has probably described its products already, in datasheets, brochures, web pages and folders. Discovery lets the Product Specialist assistant read that material and propose the products it finds. Nothing enters the register on its own: every candidate waits until someone adds it or dismisses it, and the decision is made by reading the passage the assistant quotes.
Everyone with View Products sees the candidates waiting for review. Starting a discovery conversation, adding a candidate and dismissing one need Manage Products.

The assistant looks only through material already connected to ComplyTrain:
documents in your document vaults; see Find and upload documents;
knowledge sources such as your website; see Connect and monitor knowledge sources;
SharePoint document libraries; see Link a SharePoint document library.
Connect the material first. Find products in my material appears only when the discovery assistant is set up for your organisation and you hold Manage Products.

Open Products. The Found in your material panel sits above the register table.
Choose Find products in my material. A drawer opens with the title Find products in my material and a standing notice: "Nothing enters the register until you accept it, and it cannot create a product on its own."
The assistant asks what to look through. Answer with one clear scope, for example "the product datasheets in the Engineering vault" or "everything under /products on our website". The scope is recorded with the run, so later reviewers know what it covered.
Answer any questions the assistant asks. Where it offers choices as buttons, choose one, or choose Skip this question to let it carry on.
The assistant reports what it found while it works. Close the drawer when it has finished. Closing reloads the list of candidates.
Choose Refresh on the panel at any time to see candidates that arrived while the drawer was open. Each time you open the drawer, a new conversation starts.

The panel shows a count such as 5 awaiting review, and one card per candidate, oldest first. The list is shared by everyone in your organisation and includes candidates from every run.

You may already have this | Up to five products in the register with the same name, ignoring capitals, or whose product number or any identifier matches the candidate's number. Each shows as number and name. Only products you can see are listed. |
The usual reasons to dismiss a candidate are a competitor's product named in a comparison, an accessory or spare part, a line that has been discontinued, and a product you already have under another name.

Read the passage and any You may already have this entries.
Choose the Profile for the new product. The first profile is chosen for you; check it. The profile "Cannot be changed after the product is created." See Choose and manage product profiles.
Choose Add to register.
The product is created at once and the register reloads to show it:

The candidate's own number is not copied into the product. Record it as an identifier on version 1.0, for example under Manufacturer part number, so that searches and later discovery runs recognise the product. See Record identifiers and related products.
If a colleague decided the candidate while you were reading it, a message tells you so. Choose Refresh and check the register for their product before you record it any other way.

Choose Not a product.
Enter Why not?. The reason is required and kept with the candidate: "A competitor product and one you already have are different facts, and the second is worth acting on."
Choose Dismiss, or Cancel to keep the candidate.
Write the reason so a later reader can act on it, for example "Already registered as PRD-2025-0031 under its marketing name" or "Competitor product quoted in our comparison table".
Product location: /products/{productId}/overview (fallback: /products). Open the new product from the register.
A product added from discovery holds only its name, description and a draft first version. Open it from the register and complete it:
Record its identifiers on Overview.
Read its specifications from the same datasheet with Read a document on Specifications; see Record and review specifications.
Record where it is sold on Markets, and what qualifies it on Qualification.

Your Engineering vault holds 40 product datasheets, and the register is empty.
Choose Find products in my material and answer "the product datasheets in the Engineering vault".
When the assistant has finished, close the drawer. The panel shows 38 awaiting review.
For each candidate, read the quoted passage. Add the products you make with the profile that fits, for example General product.
Dismiss the three cards that are spare-part kits with the reason "Spare-part kit, sold as part of its parent product", and one competitor model with "Competitor product quoted in a comparison".
Open each new product and record its part number under Manufacturer part number.
Run a second conversation later for your website. Products you have added and numbered now appear under You may already have this, so duplicates are easy to dismiss.
