Generate a marked PDF or zip file of everything recorded about a configuration, either as it stands now or as it stood on a past date, and find it filed in the product's vault.
A dossier gathers everything recorded about one configuration of a product into a single document: its identity, identifiers, parts, markets and authorisations, tests, export classification, claims and lifecycle history. An evidence pack is the same document as it stood on a date in the past, rebuilt from the history ComplyTrain keeps. Use a dossier to hand a customer or notified body the current record, and an evidence pack to answer an auditor's question about a past date.
Both are filed in the product's document vault rather than downloaded, so the vault's audit trail records who took a copy. Every page carries the strictest classification marking of anything in the document and, when relevant, an export-control marking.

An Admin can do all of these. Generating a document is refused, and nothing is filed, when you cannot add documents to the vault. Vault access is set in Documents; see vault access.
A dossier contains only the records you are cleared to see. What was left out is counted and stated in the document, so a pack from someone with less clearance never reads as complete. See clearances.

Under Versions, select the configuration the document is about. A dossier always describes one version.
Check the vault row under Everything about this product. If it says No document vault yet, choose Create vault, or ask someone with Manage Products to do it. Until the vault exists, Dossier and evidence pack explains that there is nowhere to file the document and shows no controls.

The Date for an evidence pack is required. It cannot be after today, and it cannot be before the version was created, because there would be nothing to rebuild.

On the Connected tab, go to Dossier and evidence pack and choose the Format.
For the current record, choose Generate dossier under As it stands now.
For a past date, enter the Date under As it stood on a date and choose Generate evidence pack.
Wait for the result card. The document is filed in the vault as soon as it appears.
Each generation files a new document. Earlier dossiers stay in the vault, so you keep a record of what was handed out when.

The cover page names the document as a product dossier or a product evidence pack and shows the product name and version, then these details: product number, configuration, configuration status, Reconstructed as of for an evidence pack, and the date it was generated. Below them it lists the contents and anything left out.

A section with nothing recorded is left out and listed on the cover with the reason "nothing recorded". If no section has anything in it, ComplyTrain does not generate the document and says there is nothing to put in it.
The dossier contains recorded data only. No text is written by the assistant.

A dossier is marked with the strictest classification among everything it includes: the product, the configuration and every record in its sections, such as a test result or claim classified above the configuration. Every page carries that marking in a banner at the top and bottom. When the configuration has a confirmed export determination saying it is controlled, every page also carries the watermark "EXPORT CONTROLLED" followed by the regimes concerned. One controlled regime makes the whole document export-controlled. See export classification.
An evidence pack takes, for each record, the stricter of its classification on the pack date and its classification today. A record classified after the date therefore still raises the marking, and so does one that has since been declassified. The export-control watermark follows the same rule: each export determination counts with the stricter of its marking on the pack date and its marking today.
Records you are not cleared to see are left out and counted:
the section says how many further records are not shown because you do not hold the clearance for them;
a section in which you can see nothing is listed on the cover as withheld, with the count;
the cover's closing note says the pack is not a complete account.
On an evidence pack the cover also states that every value is what the record held on that date.

The result card shows:
Filed, the file name and, when the document is marked, the marking;
the number of sections, the number of pages for a single PDF and, for an evidence pack, the date it was rebuilt to;
This pack is not a complete account when records were withheld, with how many and why;
Not included, listing each section left out and the reason.
If the document cannot be produced, the card shows the reason, or The document could not be produced.

The document is filed in the product's vault. Its name in the vault is "Dossier — " or "Evidence Pack" with the date, followed by the product name and version, for example "Evidence Pack 2026-03-14 — XR-5 radar Block I". The file name starts with the product number and version. Choose Open vault on the Connected tab to find and download it. Because it is a vault document, the vault's audit trail is the record of who obtained a copy. See finding documents.

Draft the narrative, in the header of Dossier and evidence pack, opens the Product Specialist assistant to draft the written sections that accompany a dossier, such as a covering summary for a notified body. It writes only from evidence already recorded and names anything the record does not support. It cannot add evidence or make a claim the record does not back. The text stays in the conversation for you to copy; it is not added to the dossier. The button appears when an assistant is set up for this task. See the Product Specialist assistant.

A notified body auditor asks what version Block I of the XR-5 radar looked like on 14 March 2026, the day a batch shipped to Germany.
Open the XR-5 product, select the Connected tab and select Block I under Versions.
In Dossier and evidence pack, leave Format as One PDF.
Under As it stood on a date, enter 14 March 2026 as the Date and choose Generate evidence pack.
The result card shows Filed, the file name, the marking Restricted, "8 sections" and "rebuilt to" the date. Not included lists "Lineage and relations — nothing recorded", because Block I had no recorded relationships on that date.
Choose Open vault, open "Evidence Pack 2026-03-14 — XR-5 radar Block I" and share it with the auditor through Documents.
A colleague without clearance for restricted test results generates the same pack. Their card shows This pack is not a complete account, the tests section says how many results are not shown, and the cover says the pack is not complete. Ask someone with the right clearance to produce the copy that goes to the auditor.
