See every assistant mode in Products, where you open it, who can open it, what it proposes and where the result lands, and how the rule that it proposes while you decide protects your register.
The Product Specialist is the assistant built into Products. It reads your product register and the documents connected to ComplyTrain, and helps you fill in and review products. Each conversation is about one product and the version you have selected, except discovery, which looks across your material for products not yet in the register.

Every drawer repeats the rule under the message box: "The assistant reads the register. It proposes; you decide."
What it reads or infers arrives as a proposal. Specification readings wait for Accept, export determinations arrive as Proposed, claims arrive as Draft, and discovered products wait for Add to register.
It never takes the decision. It cannot accept its own readings, confirm an export determination, approve a claim, release or withdraw a version, change a lifecycle state, record a test result or mark a part obsolete. Those stay with named people, who are recorded against the decision.
It works within your access. It sees only what you are cleared to see and says when something was withheld. A conversation that proposes something needs the permission to act on it. When you ask it to change a product, it shows the change for you to confirm, and it is checked against your permissions like any change you make on the page.
It answers from the record. When the register does not hold a value, it says so rather than supplying a typical one.
A standing notice at the top of each drawer says what that conversation cannot decide, for example "The assistant cannot determine an export classification. It proposes one, with its reasoning, and a named person confirms it."

A button appears only when its conversation is set up for your organisation and you hold the permission to open it. When the conversation for reading specifications is not set up, New Product offers only Fill in manually.

Open the product, choose the version, and open the tab.
Choose the conversation's button. The drawer opens with the conversation's title, a line about what it is for, and the standing notice.
The assistant speaks first. It usually asks for what it needs, such as the market you are asking about or the document to read.
Type in Ask about this product… and send. When the assistant offers choices as buttons, choose one, or Skip this question.
Close the drawer with its close button, or by selecting outside it.
Each time you open a drawer, a new conversation starts from the product as it is now. Closing the drawer ends the conversation and refreshes the counts on the page, so new readings and change proposals show at once. Switching tabs closes the drawer.

In any conversation about a product, you can ask the assistant in plain words to make a few specific changes:

Every change is confirmed first. The assistant shows what it is about to do as a proposal with Confirm and Skip this question, and nothing is saved until you choose Confirm. Skip this question leaves the product as it was. The same permission, clearance and vault-access checks apply as when you work on the product page. Check the result on the page afterwards.

Two panels write a short explanation from what is recorded, without a conversation:

Both need View Products. While the text is written, the panel shows Reading the data and writing…. The explanation is not saved: choose the button again after the record changes. A line under the text names the brief the assistant wrote it under, which a platform administrator can change.
If the panel shows "The assistant could not produce that. The underlying data is unchanged.", nothing in the register was affected. "You do not have permission to ask for this." means you do not have access to this product or version.

Your sales team is answering a tender that asks for an IP67-rated radio. Version 2.1 of the HR-500 has a passed ingress-protection test on record.
Open the HR-500, choose version 2.1 and open Claims.
Choose Propose claims from evidence. The assistant reads the specifications, test results and authorisations for 2.1.
It proposes "Rated IP67 to IEC 60529", backed by the ingress-protection pass, and says that a drop-test claim has nothing to back it.
Close the drawer. The claim is in the list as Draft, with its reasoning.
The commercial director, who holds Approve Product Claims, reads the claim and its evidence and chooses Approve.
The claim is now assertable. Propose answers in the tender workspace can draw on it for as long as the test result stays valid. See Make and approve product claims.
